Many characters in the bible experienced life in the same way that we do. They faced challenges, victories and everything in between. In all of these things they deeply encountered God in the journey. Our hope is that we will be inspired, encouraged and challenged by their example. Join us as we look at this together. Until further notice we are streaming our services online only. When we go back to in-person services we will also continue to live stream. Join us however and whenever you can, we look forward to connecting with you!
We are now able to have up to 50% capacity in our church services, and we are no longer required to ask for proof of vaccination. Therefore, we are open to all on Sundays again. Mask-wearing is required.
We will not have church services on Sunday, Dec. 26th or Sunday, Jan. 2nd. Please check our calendar on the Meetings and Services page here on the website, and keep an eye on our Facebook page for information about other events over the holidays.
We look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year!
Hi Northlight Church Family,
This week, the Yukon Government communicated some significant changes to Covid-19 regulations in response to the recent increase of cases. These are the changes that affect our church gatherings, both in and out of the building:
- Masking in all indoor spaces
- Proof of vaccination required
- Gathering limit of 25 people in church meetings
- Home gatherings, if vaccinated limited to 10 people – with only one other household
Northlight leadership met together to pray and discuss how to respond, in light of these very challenging restrictions. We recognize that there is no solution that is best for everyone, but we have decided upon a solution that affects everyone equally, no matter what your vaccination status.
Our leadership has come to the agreement that for the next 5 Sundays, we will move our church gatherings online.
I encourage you to meet this challenge and be the church we have been called to be. We are a church that loves, cares, and prioritizes connection with Jesus and with each other. Let’s actively resist the “spirit of the age” that seeks to divide and tempt us to anger and judgement. God is bigger than this, and we can engage this season with strength and grace.
Many blessings and love,
Simon & Northlight leadership
This is for those of you who didn’t catch the livestream or were not in person at our vision Sunday. If you have any questions or responses to this please get in touch with us using our contact page. Thanks for being part of our church community!
Engage with church this Sunday to hear what’s next for us as a church family! Video invitation below!
August 4th Covid-19 changes
Greetings Northlight Church!
Many of you may already be aware of the Covid-19 regulation changes in the territory on August 4th. Therefore, there will be some changes at our Church services and gatherings.
These changes will include:
- Masks will no longer be required
- Social distancing protocols will no longer be required
- Gathering limits will no longer be mandated
We recognize that individuals will have different responses and will make different choices in response to theses changes. I would like to encourage you in three areas:
Firstly, however you are able to, make gathering and engaging with the Church community a priority. I hope this means in-person for many. We will continue live-streaming to provide an alternative connection point for those who choose not to attend in person.
Secondly, have grace for those around you who have different opinions or responses to our current situation. Our love for each other must transcend our differences if we are to be a true witness to the world of who Jesus is.
Thirdly, please make your decisions prayerfully and wisely doing your best to cast off any fear. Some fear the government, some fear the virus but God is bigger than all and sovereign over all.
I am so appreciative of you! Our Northlight Church Family! I look forward to passionately following Jesus with you in this next season.
